This Privacy Policy explains how the Grabby browser extension (“Grabby,” “the extension,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use it. Please read it carefully. By installing or using Grabby, you agree to the practices described here.

The short version

Grabby is built to be private by design. The extension runs entirely on your device, inside your own browser. We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share your personal information. We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising. The data you scrape and your settings stay on your computer.

Who we are

Grabby is a free, no-code web scraper and data extractor browser extension for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (such as Microsoft Edge and Brave). It lets you select data on a web page and export it to formats such as CSV and JSON.

What information the extension works with

Grabby only processes the following, and only on your device:

• Web page content you choose to scrape. When you use Grabby on a page, it reads the content of that page (for example the text, links, and image URLs in a list or table you select) so it can extract the data you asked for. This happens locally, at the moment you run a scrape.
• The active tab’s address (URL) and title. Grabby reads the URL and title of the page you are scraping so it can label your results and, if you save a scrape, remember where it came from.
• Your saved data and settings. Scrape results, scrape history, saved “recipes,” and preferences are stored locally in your browser’s storage on your device.

We do not access data on pages where you do not run the extension, and we do not read your browsing history, passwords, form inputs, or activity on other tabs.

Where your data is stored

All of the above is stored locally on your device using the browser’s built-in extension storage. Nothing is uploaded to us or to any third party. There is no Grabby account, login, or cloud sync in the current version of the extension, and no server receives your scraped data. Because the data lives in your browser, you can remove it at any time by clearing Grabby’s history within the extension, or by removing the extension, which deletes its stored data.

What we do not do

• We do not collect or transmit your personal information.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.
• We do not use third-party analytics, trackers, advertising, or cookies for tracking.
• We do not require an account, email address, or sign-up to use the free extension.
• We do not run Grabby in the background or scrape pages without your action.

Data you export

When you export your results (for example to a CSV or JSON file) or download images, the files are saved to your device using your browser’s standard download feature. Where you store, send, or share those files afterward is entirely up to you and outside our control.

Permissions and why they are needed

Grabby requests the minimum browser permissions needed to work, and uses them only to provide the extension’s features, never to collect data about you:

• Access to the active web page: to read the content of the page you are actively scraping so it can extract the data you select. Grabby only acts on a page when you use it.
• Storage: to save your results, history, recipes, and settings locally.
• Downloads: to save exported files and downloaded images to your computer.
• Side panel: to display Grabby’s controls in the browser side panel.
• Tabs: to identify the active tab you are scraping and coordinate multi-page scrapes you start.

Third-party services

The current version of Grabby does not send your data to any third-party service. Web pages you visit and scrape are provided by their own operators and are governed by those operators’ own privacy policies and terms; Grabby does not control them.

Future paid or cloud features

We may later offer optional paid features, which could include cloud-based capabilities (for example scheduled scraping or team sharing). Those features are not part of the current extension. If and when we introduce features that involve sending data off your device, we will update this Privacy Policy and clearly describe what is collected and why, and any such features will be optional and disclosed before use.

Children’s privacy

Grabby is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data security

Because Grabby stores data locally and does not transmit it to us, your scraped data is protected by your own device and browser security. We recommend keeping your browser and operating system up to date.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use Grabby and the data you collect. Websites may have terms of service that restrict automated data collection, and some data may be subject to privacy or other laws. Please use Grabby responsibly, respect the terms of the sites you visit, and comply with all applicable laws. This Privacy Policy is not legal advice.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected in the extension listing or on our website. Your continued use of Grabby after an update means you accept the revised policy.
